Good Vibes Part 1

People underestimate the power of “good vibes.” It wasn’t until living in an absolute monstrosity of a dorm room my freshmen year of college (Colby Hall for all your Horned Frogs) when I developed the great attribute of how to create good vibes. Sure, I had about an inch between mine and roommates bed to sleep, sinks were falling off the walls, and there was never a time I felt 100% clean no matter how many times I showered with my shower shoes. But that is where having a pair of great speakers, an even better playlist, and a few anthropologie candles made a huge difference in my dorm experience.  I’m sure you’re thinking this is just some “California hippy bullshit” but I strongly believe that music can completely alter any type of mood or "vibe" in a situation. Below is a list of a few go to songs if you just need some good ol vibes in your life. Enjoy

1. Notorious Insanity- Jamiroquai/Notorious BIG Flight Facilities (Repost)

2. Instant Need- FKJ
3. In Da Club- 50 Cent (Woody Remix)  4. No Diggity- Chet Faker

5 Worthy Hip-Hop Songs

I don't post too many hip hop artists on here, and that is because it is rare for me to come across one I believe is worthy of a post. I'm more of a Dr.Dre "2001" type hip hop fan, so a lot of these "hip hop artists" these days do nothing for me. These 4 songs made the cut..
1. State of Elevation-Dillon Cooper
-Dillon Cooper is a 21 year old hip hop artist from Brooklyn who describes himself as "ridiculous and driven." You can hear his drive in his lyrics and his song "State of Elevation" deserves more publicity.
2. Grown Up- Danny Brown
Detroit artist, Danny Brown's sound reminds me old school rap, which is exactly why I love him so much.  This my friends is real hip hop. 3. 1 Train- A$ap Rocky ft. Kendrick Lamar, Joey Bada$$, Yelawolf, Danny Brown, Action Bronson, & BIG Krit
- If you're an A$AP fan then you've probably heard of this huge collaboration. 4. How 2 Rap- B.o.B
B.o.B surprises me every now and then with a great song. How 2 rap is one of them.  5. Window- Vinny Dwayne ft. Jay Z (DJ Cones Remix)
-This is definitely a more mellow song, but I find it absolutely beautiful. I discovered this song about 9 months ago and just rediscovered it on my sound cloud lists. Not sure how I've waited this long to post it.

3 Songs To Help You Recover From Miley's VMA Performance

By now I'm sure you've seen or at least heard how excruciatingly terrible Miley Cyrus's VMA performance was last night. After seeing Miley stick out her tongue and twerk one too many times on stage with life size teddy bears, it reminded me of exactly why I find joy in finding good, real, music for people to listen to. So here are 3 songs to help your ears and eyes recover from what might have been the worst performance in the history of music (if you'd even call that music).

1. Say Lou Lou- Julian (The Chainsmokers Remix) 2. Fashion Killa- A$AP Rocky (Blackbird Remix) 3. Young and Beautiful- Lana Del Rey (Kaskade Remix)

Song Of The Day: Get It On- Only Real

Indie lovers everywhere should stop everything their doing, sit down, and click play on this song. I've played this song a borderline unhealthy amount of times today. Only Real consists of a 20 year old kid from the UK who records his music in his room. All the more reason to love him. This is just a classic feel good summertime song, and I can't get enough of it.

Throwback Thursday: 4 Remixes To Bring You Into The Weekend

While I can no longer bare to see another "#tbt" pic on instagram of someone sitting on the toilet at age 2, I can definitely handle some throwback remixes. So in honor of it being Thursday and the fact that my weekend starts tonight, I had to post 4 remixes that may not be new but are unbelievable. If you don't have any of these already on your party playlist, add them immediately. Cheers, it's Thursday.

GoPro's New Video

GoPro is famous for having some out of this world advertising for their new cameras, but I think this one takes the cake. Despite the fact that my girl crush Alana Blanchard is in this, the song they picked for this video happens to be my all time favorite song right now. I posted Vance Joy's song "Riptide" back in early July as a great song to start off your weekend, so it brings me joy to hear it in an amazing advertisement. I'm posting the full song again below for those who may have missed it.
