In an era of narrow viewpoints, wannabee Paris Hilton's and The Jersey Shore, where the most popular singers talk about "brushing your teeth with a bottle of jack," where we have more degrees, but less sense of life, where we've forgotten how to laugh, but know how to send a text message, we've lost the real shit in life that reminds us how to breathe. I had to keep my sanity somewhere, so here it is: The Real Shit. A blog with REAL music, inspiration, and advice.

Now This Is What You Call Good Advertising...
I worked at a marketing agency RAPP this summer that hosted the Cannes Festival 2011. To celebrate the fact that we were the hosts of it, we had a super trendy wine and cheese party and watched some top advertisements that won awards at the festival. Well besides the fact that I had the coolest internship ever last summer that hosted wine and cheese parties, today in my Channel Planning class we were talking about media placement, and what makes good advertising. I immediately thought back to this Bing case study that won an award at the Cannes Festival. Droga5 an independent ad agency based out of New York was hired by Bing to raise awareness for their site, at the same time Jay Z was releasing a book called Decoded. They came up with unbelievable idea to advertise for not only Bing, but Jay Z's new book. This definitely deserves some credit. This is advertising in its greatest form. Enjoy this video, and watch it all the way to the end.
