Well my week just got 10 times better. For all you Dallas peeps out there who have any sort of taste in music, you need to get your tickets for Breakaway Music Festival September 21st. Empire Of The Sun live? I'm there. But add Wu Tang, Matt and Kim, Explosions In The Sky, Big Gigantic and Ra Ra Riots, and now it's no questions asked.
Listen to Empire Of The Sun's New Album "Ice On The Dune" Here:
Can You Tell-Ra Ra Riots
Matt and Kim- Let's Go
In an era of narrow viewpoints, wannabee Paris Hilton's and The Jersey Shore, where the most popular singers talk about "brushing your teeth with a bottle of jack," where we have more degrees, but less sense of life, where we've forgotten how to laugh, but know how to send a text message, we've lost the real shit in life that reminds us how to breathe. I had to keep my sanity somewhere, so here it is: The Real Shit. A blog with REAL music, inspiration, and advice.

3 Incredibly Sexy Songs You Seriously Need

1. Banks- Warm Water (Snakeships Remix) This might be the sexiest song I've heard in a long time. Good job Snakehips, good job. Pour yourself a glass of wine, or two, for this one. 2. A Moor- Raleigh Ritchie Something about Raleigh Ritchie's voice is just mesmerizing. Great talent. 3. Thinking About You- Frank Ocean (Ryan Hemsworth Remix) Obviously this original Frank Ocean song 'Thinking About You," was great in itself, but I love the spin Ryan Hemsworth took on this.

Song Of The Day: Bob Seger- Atmosphere
Atmosphere always has and always will be one of my favorite hip-hop groups. Their songs "Sunshine," "You," "Yesterday," "The Best Day," are all classssics. I'm surprised Atmosphere isn't more popular, but then again I kind of like it. Atmosphere just released a single called "Bob Seger," and all I have to say is, it's about damn time. I'm hoping the release of this single is insinuating that a fourth album is coming? Well in the meantime, I'll be enjoying this new single and thanking Atmosphere for still creating great hip-hop.
Song Of The Day: Spinoza- Generationals
Say a big hello to the indie rock duo, Generationals. There are certain songs we each have in our lives, that when they are played they bring you back to a certain moment. For me, Spinoza instantly reminds me of my roots of California. While my heart may be here in Texas, I sometimes long for the taste of something familiar. Spinoza is not just a glimpse back into the world of beach days and blonde surfer bros, but a time of simplicity. The time before bills and working 8 to 5. I can sit here and say I'm the most happy and content I've ever been, but it's still nice to have a reminder of the life I have back in California. Don't ask me why, but Spinoza just does that for me. Even though the Generationals are from Louisana, they have a very "California indie band vibe" to them. The music video to "Spinoza" is also well worth watching.

Song Of The Day: Jubel- Klingande

There are days when I will search and search through music and not find anything. I can waste hours on the internet trying to find that perfect song, and come out empty handed. But then there are the days when I find a gem amongst the regurgitated versions of the rest that makes it all worth it. Well that is exactly what the song "Jubel" is by the french duo Klingande. I dare you to be in a bad mood when you listen to this song. I've had it on repeat for the past hour. Combine a little jazz and a little house music, and you come out with this beautiful masterpiece.

1. Safe With You- Alex Metric and Jacques Lu Cont feat. Malin
This definitely has a late 80s vibe to it, which makes me like it even more. Enjoy it.
2. So Good To Me- Chris Malinchaks If you've been searching for the perfect song to add to your summer playlist, well here it is. I'm talking cruising on a boat, a drive along the coast, just typical stuff I'm daydreaming about while sitting in my cube.
3.Purple Yellow Red & Blue- Portugal. The Man (Passion Pit)
Passion Pit makes a catchy and flawless remix of Portugal. The Man's song "Purple Yellow Red & Blue," without ruining the already great song. This song is a must have on your summer playlist.

Song Of The Day: Dreams- Fleetwood Mac (Gigamesh Remix)
1. Fleetwood Mac-Dreams (Gigamesh Remix)
Fleetwood Mac is obviously a classic group. You really wouldn't think any of their songs could get any better, but then I heard this Gigamesh remix. It's goosebump worthy and the perfect song to play to get you through your Monday. My one suggestion while listening to this song would be: play it loud. It's just that much better. If you're at work, put on some headphones. I guarantee you'll get a whole lot more productive.

Song Of The Day: RUFUS- Desert Night
Say hello to the "indie dance" group from Sydney, RUFUS. This Ausi trio really has come to fame in the past year. Their known for their sold out parties in NYC, in front of band members from LCD
Soundsystem, Holy Ghost! and RAC. Their song "Desert Night" is incredibly mesmerizing. I expect big things from this group in the future.
Song Of The Day: Drake- The Motion
Drake's new album "Nothing Was The Same," will be released September 17th, and in the meantime he has released a few songs for a sneak peak. I've never been a die hard Drake fan, but his song "The Motion" really caught my attention. It's catchy and a little sexy, there is never any harm in that. Keep em coming Drake.

Throwback Thursday: Music Sounds Better With You- Stardust
Rewind to 1998 to a dance house in France, and this would be the song that would be blasting through the speakers. Stardust was a French house music group that made their way to the top of the U.S. Billboard Dance Music list in the late 90s. Daft Punk's Thomas Bangalter was part of Stardust before his rise to stardom. I love this song for a lot of reasons, but mostly because it is the sound of real house music before it became overly processed and before "dubstep" was ever considered music.God Bless Bangalter for keeping the real music alive. If only more house music could still sound like this.
